This past July the calendar faithfully brought by the day that marked Leo's third birthday!
This is one of my most favorite pictures of him. Such an accurate image of the combination of sweetness and strength that this boy is. Fearless on the one hand, and sweet and snuggly on the other. He will literally "walk into me" and head butt me while I'm cooking dinner, then cling to my leg and say "I hugging you, Mom!". He'll run at full speed and crash into me with all he's got nearly knocking me over but joyfully telling me how much he loves me!
His mischief is purposeful. He doesn't just get into something out of curiosity, he usually has the purpose of dishing himself out food, or taking care of his needs... maybe except when he thinks he's going to drive the car.
Physical feats are his forte. Climbing, jumping (as in: "I'm Batman and I'm flying") from chair to chair are very regular things for him.
Yet all the sweetness in the world he bestows to his sweet "Towee-ah" --so long as she not meddling with his race cars. Every box turnes into his race car too. Each and every one of his older siblings is his "Beff Fend" at any given point, especially if they have read him a book, agreed to sleep on his bed, or given him a snack.
He's as rich in temper as all other 5 of his siblings, and just as unique. A go-getter, energetic, wake up with the sun kind of guy. Sweet and tender when he wants to and a fierce and agile wrestler at the drop of a hat. He's persistent and determined. As he grows, I doubt there will be much he sets to attain that he won't. My prayers is that we can faithfully help him learn how to steward that strong will, and that tenacity to bring out the man God is forging in him.
We love our Leo Mac!
