Benny, a big boy of 7!

I can't believe that I have taken so long to write these updates!  My oldest son.  He is growing into his sense of humor and we are thankful for the compassionate, merciful soul that he is.  He is starting to discover the joy of reading and has begun to read his beloved Peter Pan on his own.  He loves all things fun, and Lego, and Star Wars.

This wasn't supposed to be a big party year for him since we only do big parties for each kid every five years.  However, if you have five siblings, and your oldest sister is Elena, she will make sure that you and the two friends you invited over for dinner will have plenty of entertainment!  There were (Star War themed, of course) games.

And the Jedi course she designed for him ended with culminated with the defeat of one of the Darth guys!

An awful looking cake for a sweet happy boy!  (Poor Uriah, he was trying to be a good sport, but he had a fever!)

My kids are always pretty likely to ask for pizza on their birthdays.  It goes back and forth from "mama's pizza" to "Surgeries" (Sergi's), but pizza is pretty much a given.

His birthday gift were these magnetic blocks which have been such a hit!

Our Benny.  Our first boy.  Shortly before we found out we were pregnant for him, Ben had gone over to church (we were still in Gallupville then) to spend some time praying.  He came back so moved sharing with me what he felt God has spoken to him.  He was going to give him a son like himself, an armor bearer, a son of his right hand.  A couple of weeks later, we realized I was pregnant.  This sweet, compassionate, funny, tender hearted boy came to us.  He thrives on words of encouragement.  Anything moves him to tears.  He loves to laugh, and he loves to make others laugh.  He is driven by physical affection.  He is just like his dad in SO many ways.

We love him.  We love his adventurous spirit.  We love that he's still finding himself and we love to see him grow.  He is such a joy!
