July -- the month of birthdays!

Turns out that now half our children have birthdays in July!  Busy month, but fun with all the sun, and heat of the Summer.

First on the list (by seniority!) has to be our Adriana!

Adriana turned 9 this year.  She is such a compassionate soul!  Her growth these days seems to be more tangible in character since (like her mom) she is so tiny.  We are so blessed by her compassionate heart.  She is usually the quickest to give up something to favor someone else, even when she really wanted what she is giving up.  She is also a big snuggler!  She loves with her acts of service and her touch.

One of the areas where her compassion is very evident, is towards the elderly.  It is always delightful to see her reach out and minister to them.  There is a lady that comes to church sometimes, she is in her nineties.  Through another friend we have learned much about Betty's tender heart.  She doesn't have any family.  Betty loves children, and although all of my children show her attention, Adriana is the only one that sits with her, hugs her, holds her hand... she doesn't usually talk much to her, but it is so heart warming to see her just be with Betty.

I remember one of the last times we visited Babci, Ben's Grandma.  We will never forget her small hands covering Babci's hands, tenderly touching and caressing her.  Just comforting and loving in her own little way by her touch, such tenderness!

This deep, deep feeling girl is a chatter box (no surprise there, everyone in our house is!).  She processes everything and thinks everything through and through.  Her sensitive little heart loves to please and many times you have to dig deep to really know what her wants and wishes are since she will always answer "Whatever you want!"

She still very much loves animals.  She loves them to the point of crying for Red when there is a storm and he is outside in his cage. He does have a dog house where he is sheltered from the rain and weather in general, but she "feels" for the dog.  If it were up to her, we would have a room for pets in the house, I'm sure!  One of her birthday gifts this year was a subscription to Kids National Geographic and she very eagerly awaits her newest edition every month!  She is not the biggest reader, but that magazine?  She devours it in one sitting!

This year we celebrated her with her two July birthday buddies.  She asked for hamburgers and hot dogs, brownies and ice-cream.  I have a feeling she was trying to keep things simple for me, but that was that.  She would not be swayed to any of the other favorite meals.

We love our loving, pleasing, ever going little dynamo!  We are so blessed to have the privilege of seeing her grow in gentleness, compassion, and beauty.

Happy Birthday, our little Love!
