On Tuesday, the 17 we went to the city. Both Ben and I had had some issues with teeth and so we made an appointment with my uncle (my mom’s second cousin twice removed) who graciously checked us. As usual, Ben had no problems, I ended up with novocaine and some work done just to get me through the month there.
After that we went to a Creperie that belongs to the daughter of one of my Mom’s friends. While there, a couple of ladies who are dear family friends came to see us there and my Uncle’s wife (whom I hadn’t met yet) also joined us. The restaurant was on the second floor of a mall and there happened to be a “slime club” within the mall. Ben took the kids to an hour of slime making fun, Sebastian napped, and I visited with these dear ladies! We forgot the camera, though, so no pictures for this day.
When our visit was over we went to meet the Pomeranian puppies that my Aunt (my Uncle’s new wife) owns. We ran into my Uncle (this is my mother’s oldest brother). We ended the evening waiting out the heaviest traffic hours at my parent’s and a late night home.
Wednesday saw us leaving the house bright and early to make the Ladies’ meeting at church, where I had been invited to share. Pastor Nufio gave us a tour of the new Home for the Elderly and shared some of the future vision for the church’s outreach.
This is the sanctuary of the church.
To the left, back is one of the school buildings and further back the Youth building.
The home is very nice, full of sunlight and greenery. The gentleman in the third picture served in the team of ushers of the church for about 25 years (if my memory doesn’t fail me) and is now a resident in the home. The home is currently serving about 24 people, three to a room. The bedrooms are nice and each have their own bathroom.
With it being a weekday, there weren’t any activities for the kids, so Ben sat with them in the front of the church to wait for the ladies’ meeting to be done.
It was such an honor to share with these precious ladies!
After the meeting we went out to lunch with Pastor Nufio, his wife Marilyn and Juan Carlos, the current Administrator of the Church. He used to be the Teens Pastor during my last years in Guatemala.

While the meeting was going on Ben took some really nice pictures of the kids outside!
Elena and her favorite dress.
We managed to connect with Ana Lucía, the middle kids’ church teacher that I had once baby sat.
The traffic was so heavy on our way back to church that we decided to call it a day and head home from there.
